Prep Hoops Route 66 Kick Off 17U Players to Watch: Part 8
The Prep Hoops Route 66 Kick Off is back in Oklahoma this year for the second consecutive year. The field is loaded with talent from across the country. Teams are attending the tournament from Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Missouri, Arkansas, Kansas and Michigan. We begin previewing the 17U division with some of the top talent at the tournament.
Zach Thiel 6’1 2018 KC Elite Shooting Guard
Thiel is a knock down shooter that makes opponents pay for the space they give him. He is a prospect on the rise with a chance to really improve his stock with a strong showing this spring and summer.
Deon McKinney 6’1 2018 KC Elite Shooting Guard
He is athletic and can play on the Wing at the two or the three. McKinney is great at scoring in transition. He will be looking to make sure people take notice of his game with a strong weekend.
Will Eames 6’5 2018 KC Elite Wing
Eames is a talented three man who can shoot the cover off the ball. He can play the 3, 4 or the 5 if needed. The versatility of Eames makes him such a valuable player to have.
Xavier Rhodes 6’1 2018 Missouri Team Carroll Point Guard
He is smooth with the ball in his hands. When getting into the lane he is a crafty finisher and when he doesn’t have anything he finds the open guy. Rhodes is very quick and likes to get in the passing lanes and get easy transition buckets.
RJ Lawrence 5’11 2018 Missouri Team Carroll Combo Guard
Lawerence can play the one or the 2. He is a little undersized, but is an elite shooter who can score in bunches. He is very capable of getting to the basket off the dribble with his speed. Offensively, Lawrence is a problem for opponents.
Trent Lyles 6’0 2018 Missouri Team Carroll Point Guard
Lyles is an overall player who does a lot of good things on the court. He is best at creating for his teammates, but also can create for himself.
