Prep Hoops Exposure Camp (Top Senior Guards)
The Prep Hoops Exposure Camp was loaded with talented guards and was some exceptional play. I will be highlighting some of the top senior guards from this past Saturdays camp.
Ricky Stafford 6’2 (Mountain View) He was arguably the best player at the exposure and had numerous college coaches asking about him. Stafford averaged 14 points and 8 rebounds in the three games played and was a pest on defense. He will leave on a mission this summer and should come back to several junior colleges wanting his services.
Ryan McCann 6’4 (Herriman) the lefty off-guard scored the ball very well all day. He averaged 13 points per game over the three games and showed his ability to get to the hoops. McCann picked up an offer at the event from Lane Community College.
Boston Allen 5’10 (Clearfield) the shifty guard was able to blow by defenders all day and made an array of mid-range jumpers. I really like him game and will have a chance to play at the college level once he gets back from his mission.
Tyler Boyack 6’2 (Maple Mountain) showed his ability to shoot the ball from the three and the mid-range. He needs to improve his ball handling and strength. After a mission I see him as a very nice junior college prospect.
Taylor Peppinger 6’0 (Murray) got extremely hot in one of the guys and showed that he can light it up from deep. Several colleges were interested in recruiting Peppinger. He also showed that he has a steady handle and can run the offense at the next level.
Nicolas Aguirre 6’2 (Layton Christian) has an extremely good handle and a good looking shot. Augirre looked like a next level point guard that can come in and run the show for a college team. I think he is a junior college prospect and from there can play at the D2 level.
Hunter Clarke 6’4 (Ogden) The length guard came into the camp with several offers and left with even more. He showed he can score from all three levels. If Clarke can add some strength to his frame he could be a very good college player.
Stockton Ashby 6’3 (Hillcrest) had a great 2nd game where he scored 18 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. He is a good athlete who is able to guard four positions on the court. After his mission Ashby will have a chance to play at the small college level.
Dason Youngblood 6’2 (Bingham) The well built guard had a very solid day. He was able to score pretty consistently and was very good on defense. Youngblood has several junior colleges that showed interest and I wouldn’t be suprised if he picks up a few offers in the coming weeks.
