Prep Hoops Exposure Camp (Top Post Players)
This past Saturday the Prep Hoops Exposure Camp took place at Skyridge High School. There was plenty of standouts and I will be highlighting some of the top post players from the event.
Trey Farrer 6’7 (Pine View) was dominate throughout the entire camp with his post play. I knew Farrer is a great athlete and is a high level defender but I was surprised to see how skilled he is in the post. He has a series of post moves that he put on display. Farrer picked up a full-ride offer from Central Wyoming College.
Ben Mcbride 6’8 (Roy) Showed that is one of the most skilled (2018) post players in the state of Utah. He was able to knock down shots and protect the paint on defense. Mcbride needs to dedicate himself to the weight room this off-season and if he does I think he will have a great senior year.
Steven Price 6’6 (Juan Diego) was the best athlete at the camp which was highlighted by a dozen or so dunks. Price was very good in transition and was able to blow by defenders. He needs to add around 15-20 pounds to his frame for the next level. Price could play the wing in college if he improves his ball handling and shooting. Several colleges at the camp were interested in him and Southwestern Oregon offered him a scholarship.
Koby Butler 6’6 (Emery) He is one of the best 2A players Utah has seen in the last five years and this was my first time seeing him in person. Butler had no problem playing against 4A and 5A post players as he was a bully down low. After a mission Butler will be able to play at a lower-level junior college or a NAIA school.
Chase Berry 6’5 (Skyridge) the undersized forward was a match-up nightmare for opposing post players. He was able to take guys off of the bounce and finish at the rim. Berry still is raw and needs to improve his shooting for the next level. Southwestern Oregon offered him a scholarship on the spot and many other schools expressed interest.
Dylan Brower 6’6 (Syracuse) the athletic senior had a nice day at the exposure camp. Brower is a skilled post player and is also a great athlete. He had one really good game that caught the attention of some of the college coaches. I think he will see a few offers coming in the next few weeks.
Braxton Bailey 6’6 (Provo) One of the top scorers in 4A had a very solid day. He was able to score in the post and from the outside. If bailey dedicates himself to the weight room he will be a very good forward at the college level. Treasure Valley Community College showed high interest in him and I expect an offer after April 1st.
