Oklahoma high school stars in the NCAA Tournament
March Madness is upon us this week with games starting tonight in Dayton, Ohio. Prep Hoops Oklahoma rewinds the clock to take a look at the former Oklahoma high school standouts who made the NCAA Tournament this year. 12 Oklahoma high school basketball players made the tournament this year.
Shake Milton SMU Guard
Milton has been very impressive in his sophomore campaign for the Mustangs. He is handling the ball a lot for SMU averaging 13.1 points, 4.5 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game. Milton gets a special treat from the NCAA Tournament committee as SMU will play at the BOK Center in Tulsa just a few miles from Owasso where Milton grew up.
Dashawn McDowell SMU Guard
McDowell has contributed more and more for SMU as his freshman season has continued. He is averaging about 8 minutes with a little over a point and rebound per game. McDowell graduated from Southeast after a great career leading them to the State tournament his senior season. McDowell has a bright future with the Mustangs.
SMU vs Providence/USCShaq Morris Wichita State Forward
The former Edmond Memorial bulldog and state champ is back dancing with the Shockers again. He is playing the biggest role he has ever had for Wichita State this year. He is averaging 9.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game for the Shockers. Look for Morris to play big minutes in the tournament.

Tyson Jolly Baylor Wing
Jolly is redshirting this year after spending a year at a Florida Prep School. The Putnam City West native has gotten faster, stronger and improved overall through his redshirt year. Jolly will play his first action on the court next season for the Baylor Bears.

Allonzo Trier Arizona Guard
Trier played two years of Oklahoma high school basketball before going the Prep School route. Each summer Trier returned to Oklahoma to play with NIKE EYBL team, Athletes First now named Team Griffin. He has turned into a very special player for the Arizona Wildcats. After sitting out the first half of the season for a PED test, Trier has returned to the court and dominated his opponents. He is averaging 17.3 points per game for Arizona.

Conner Avants North Dakota Forward
Avants was a star at Deer Creek high school in the Oklahoma 2015 Class. He headed North and it has paid off for him with a fantastic start to his career and a NCAA Tournament bid in the sophomore season. Avants is averaging 9.8 points and 4.9 rebounds in a little over 22 minutes of action per game.
North Dakota vs Arizona
Jakolby Long Iowa State Wing
Long is redshirting this year for the Cyclones. The former Mustang standout did appear in limited action in the first six games of the season. He will prepare to make a huge impact on the Wing for Iowa State next year.
Iowa State vs Nevada
Carlbe Ervin II Kansas State Point Guard
Ervin has contributed to the turn around at Kansas State this season off the bench. The former Edmond North star is averaging 2.5 points and 2.5 rebounds per game for the Wildcats in his senior year. They use him for defense off the bench. Ervin and the Wildcats will look to make a deep run in the tournament starting Tuesday night with the play in game against Wake Forest.

Lindy Waters Oklahoma State Wing
After a great start to his freshman season Waters was held out of action with a foot injury throughout a good portion of BIG XII play. The former Norman North star appears to be back for Oklahoma State for the NCAA Tournament. This season Waters has been a solid player for Oklahoma State off the bench averaging 5.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.
Mitchell Solomon Oklahoma State Center
Solomon has played huge minutes for Oklahoma State this season in the paint. The 6’9 Bixby native is averaging 5.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game for the Cowboys. Solomon will be counted on for a large role in the Pokes opening game against Michigan.
Will Leinhard Oklahoma State Forward
Former Bishop McGuinness standouts, Will Leinhard walked on at Oklahoma State after graduating in 2015. Leinhard has seen limited minutes for the Cowboys this season. He led Bishop McGuinness to the state tournament several times over his high school career.
Trey Reeves Oklahoma State Forward
Reeves is a freshman out of Muldrow high school. Many would best know him by his father, Big Country. Reeves has seen action in several games for the Cowboys in limited minutes.
