Johnson selected to coach Jordan Brand Game
The winningest coach in North Carolina high school basketball and a member of the North Carolina Hall of Fame, Freddy Johnson of Greensboro Day has been named the head coach of the West team for The Jordan Brand All-Star Game.
The Jordan Brand All-Star game on April 14th will once again be held in Brooklyn at The Barclay’s Center after being held in Charlotte for the first few years. Johnson will make two trips to the Big Apple in the next two weeks. His Greensboro Day Bengals play in the Dick’s Nationals next week. This is their second appearance in the National’s.
Waddell to Delaware State
Unsigned senior Amiri Waddell of Team Charlotte/Concord First Assembly (Charlotte) has committed to Delaware State University. Known for his shooting range and the ability to knock down shots, Waddell played AAU for Team Charlotte under former NBA’er Jeff McInnis.
Faulk Resigns From Laney
Nate FaulkNathan Faulk, the head boy’s basketball coach at Laney High School in Wilmington, North Carolina has decided to step down. On twitter, Faulk posted “After 5 years coaching basketball at Laney, the time has come for me to step away and pursue other opportunities. I appreciate the support from the administration. I’m very proud of all we have accomplished.” Faulk also coaches Flight 22, a top tier AAU program in Wilmington.
Jordan Davis Decision
Dayton University signee Jordan Davis of Dutch Fork High School (SC) has a decision to make. His soon-to-be head coach at Dayton, Archie Miller has accepted the head coaching job at Indiana and has resigned from Dayton. This leaves Davis in a all-to-common situation. Deciding to stick with his commitment to Dayton or open his recruitment up. Davis told me, “I haven’t spoke to Coach Miller yet.” Asked if he was going to open up his recruitment, Davis said, “Not sure yet.”
