Greenville Teach 59, Landrum 57
Jalen Breazeale scored only two points and it was the only two that matter. Breazeale hit a layup as the horn sounded and lifted Greenville Tech to a 59-57 win over Landrum. Greenville Tech will play Keenan at 7 p.m. in Class 2A upper state semifinal. The crowd was 70-30 Landrum in the small gym at League Academy. All of the seats and sightline was filled with people. The game-starter with a technical shot by Trey Smith (2019) because the Greenville Tech book keeper was late to game. The Warriors didn’t score until 4 minute left in the first quarter as the Cardinals jump out to 7-2 lead. Greenville Tech cut the lead to 14-9 as the quarter came to an end. In the second quarter Smith was called for a technical foul by using his elbow to the face of a Greenville Tech player. The second quarter was a different story as the Warriors outscored Landrum 18-16 to cut the lead to 30-27. Greenville Tech Jayden Brooks scored six straight points to take the lead at 33-30 in third quarter.
Eastside 55, South Pointe 54
Pantry McKinnon hit two free-throws with 1.5 seconds left to lift Eastside over South Pointe and advance in the Class 4a playoffs. JK Miller hit two free-throws with: 10 seconds to give the Stallions a 54-53 lead. Rico Williams and Nikk Butler each scored a team-high 10 points for the Eagles. The Stallions’ was led Dk Kendrick 21 points. The Eagles storm back in the first half after 18-14 to take go on a 11 points run to take a 25-14 lead at the half. Eastside took a 44-39 lead into the fourth when Kendrick hit a three to cut the lead to two points. Eastside had trouble getting the ball as they were call for four five-second violations in the fourth.
