North Myrtle Beach Christian took the 2 hour drive down to Charleston and played Andrew Jackson Academy out of Bamberg, SC. The Stallions led 36-32 heading into the half-time break.
Jeff Hintz
The Stallions came out on fire in the 2nd half with the play of Jeff Hintz (2017) and Lawton Fulford (2021). Hintz scored 19 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in the win. Hintz connected on 12-14 free throws. Hintz has scored 929 career points in two seasons with the Stallions.
Lawton Fulford #5
Fulford just a 8th grader finished the night with 18 points. Fulford is in his 4th year on the varsity after reclassifying this past year and playing as a 6th grader for the Stallions.
The Stallions will now have to play at Heathwood Hall in Columbia on Tuesday versus Anderson Christian. The Stallions play in the SCISA 1A Bracket.
The third game of the day featured nearby Palmetto Christian from Mount Pleasant vs Bethesda Day out of Savannah, GA.
Maliek Brown (2020) came into the game averaging 20.9 ppg and 11.1 rebounds for the PCA Eagles. Brown 6’2 freshman does it all for this very young team. Brown really doesn’t look to leave the floor too much.
Palmetto Christian defeated Bethesda Day 56-51 to advance to Tuesday. The Eagles will play Trinity Byrnes at 8 P.M. at the Sumter Civic Center in the SCISA Class 2A bracket.
Brown led the Eagles with 19 points and 17 rebounds. Sophomore Grayson Silvester added 10 points. The Eagles have just one senior on the 12 man roster.
“Brown is extremely active and athletic all over the floor. Maliek plays so much bigger than this size of 6’2” said Prep Hoops Bret Swanson.
