After averaging 8.3 points per game last year, Noah scored 8 or more points in all but one game this year. As the playoffs begin this weekend, Noah will be looked upon to try and pull an upset or two.
Waynesville did not have perform the way they would have liked to this year. “As a team, we have struggles to stay consistent but we compete every night. We finished third in our league but have difficulties with teams out of the league”, Noah tells me. Against non-league opponents, Waynesville went 1-9. Even through the struggles, Noah has led the team and kept them competitive. He doesn’t feel any pressure to be the go-to-guy for the Spartans, but he knows his teammates aren’t afraid to give him the ball either. “Honestly, I wouldn’t really call it pressure but I do know my guys look to me to get going. I’ve been a leader for this program for almost 3 years now so I know what I have to do”.
Noah is the team leader in scoring, assists, and steals and is also in the top 5 in the league in all three categories. He tells me his greatest attribute on the court is his court vision. “I can create off the dribble not only for myself but for my teammates as well”. On-the-ball defense is another area Noah excels at. He leads the SWBL with 3.3 steals per game. However, Noah still wants to improve more defensively. He also tells me he wants to see improvement in his body strength.
Noah currently has interest from a few small schools, but is “still looking for the right fit”. Waynesville begins tournament play against Chaminade-Julienne on Friday February 24th. Even though the Spartans have struggled outside of league play this year, I have confidence Noah Price can lead them against this strong Eagles team and pull an upset.
