Larson has taken some basketball visits and plans to take some more. He’ll be visiting larger institutions also; where he may attend just to study, rather than play hoops at all.
“I haven’t made a decision or anything yet, but the ones with the most interest I would say are Simpson, Central and then Nebraska-Wesleyan; they’ve all sent me letters and texts throughout the season,” said Larson.
“I have no problem or anything playing Division III. It’s all about finding the right fit and the school that has the right major, and the the feeling of a school that really wants me to play there.”
He says he hopes to make decision soon on where he’ll head next year, whether that’s a D3 basketball option, or a big school for academics is yet to be determined.
“I’m probably not going to make my decision until the end of the year, I’ll probably visit some more schools, like some bigger schools that I wouldn’t go to for basketball, just to get a feel for them,” said Larson. “And then just make my decision from there.”
Larson has been good this season for the Tigers, and though the emergence of Tajen Ross has lessened his offensive output, he still is a critical piece to the squad.
The 6-foot combo-guard averaged 12.9 points, 2.3 assists, 1.8 steals and 5.1 rebounds this regular season.
“We have Tajen on the team and he’s been our leading scorer, so I don’t feel like I have to carry the offensive load,” said Larson. “I can just play of him, take my chances that I do get, and I like to drive and kick because we have lots of shooters on our team.”
ADM heads into the postseason with an 11-10 record and will play an 11-10 Harlan squad tonight in the first round of districts.
“I feel like our team is pretty talented and any night out we can have a different guy have a big night,” said Larson.
“I just like to do whatever the team needs me to do. And especially as we get to these late-season games, as long as we get the win that’s all that matters.”
