Continue ReadingThe Dulaney Lions will look to end their regular season on a high note against Randallstown High School on Wednesday. After that, their focus and attention will be directed towards capturing a regional championship. Their 6’5″ stretch big man Chase Drew will be a vital piece to their championship puzzle.
Drew is ranked 49th in the class of 2018 in Maryland according to PrepHoops, but the growth of his game has been evident and again, another big reason why the Lions have a 15-6 (9-2 in conference) record. His 15 point per game scoring average may not bounce off the page at you, but considering the talent Drew plays alongside and the efficiency in which he scores, there is no doubt that he has the ability to contribute at a high level in college.
Drew told PrepHoops that a variety of Division 2 and Division 3 schools have reached out to him, but he has also garnered interest from UMBC, Towson University, St. Francis (PA), Mount St. Mary’s, Siena, Delaware, George Mason, and Duquesne University.

Drew’s size and ability are something that is truly coveted in today’s style of basketball. He is a big who can stretch the floor with his shot as well as defend the rim at a high level defensively. Once the high school season concludes, Drew will play with Team Thrill’s 16U team for the AAU portion of the calendar. He told PrepHoops that he will focus on polishing his ball handling skills in order to make him even more of a threat off the catch in the half court, while also being an option as a “point forward.”
“What I’m looking for in a school is for sure a high tempo program that is very offensively minded, but also locks up on defense,” Drew told PrepHoops.
Drew currently holds a 3.0 GPA.
