Continue ReadingEdwardsville 2018 power forward Caleb Strohmeier is a 6’7” mobile four man that ranks among the top 30 prospects regardless of position in his class. What you have to like about Strohmeier’s game is the versatility. Early in his career he played more on the perimeter where he can shoot it spotting up as a floor spacer. As his career has progressed his post game has made strides. Quality footwork in the post with the use of fakes and up and unders. Strohmeier has added strength to his frame over the last couple years. He fights on the interior and has some toughness to him. Should be monitored by low-major programs.
Strohmeier broke down his team’s season and his individually.
“It is going good. Getting off to a good start. The Collinsville Tournament was a big tournament for us. Got a lot of confidence from that. Overall it is going good. I am doing well. Improved a lot from last year. Strength especially. Getting in the weight room. I think I have improved my perimeter shot a lot. Working on improving my ball handling.”
What college programs is he in the most communication with at this stage?
“I have been talking to Northern Illinois, Western Illinois, Air Force is new, SIUE a lot.”
No offers at this point. Strohmeier has taken a few visits.
“I went up to Northern Illinois and have caught a couple SIU-Edwardsville games.”
He runs with Jets-Ramey United on the circuit which is expected to be one of the best in the Midwest this spring.
