One of those players that has competed against the teams for four years is 2017 Ingraham guard, Nic Wilson.
Wilson, who was recently named Ingraham’s offensive player of the year, is a guard who prides himself on his ability to help his team any way possible. He’s a good shooter who can finish at the rim in different ways.
“One positive about my game is that if the shots aren’t going my way, I’ll make sure to impact other parts of the game whether it’s defense or crashing the boards,” Wilson said.
The main aspect of Wilson’s game that he wants to improve on is attacking the basket.
“One thing I want to work on is attacking the basket off the dribble to capitalize on my finishing ability,” he said.
Wilson’s senior season just finished and he’s hoping to play at the next level, but hasn’t heard from any schools as of yet. He’s hoping that will change, especially when schools take a look at what kind of competition he has faced.
“Being the competitive person I am, I love going up against some of the best talent in the state and even the country on a weekly basis,” Wilson said. “You’ve got teams like Hale, Garfield and Beach who everyone recognizes as top-tier, but all 16 teams are strong and every game is going to be a battle.”
