The 6-foot-1 guard predicates his game on his defense, and has been working to get his offensive game rolling of late. He’s been especially working on his jumper.
“I can score, but I’d say my defensive game is a little better than my offensive game,” said LaFrance. “And my offensive shot isn’t that efficient, but I can get to the rack and play above the rim. And I’ve been working on my ball-handling a little bit more.”
As his junior season winds down, LaFrance discussed what his role was this season, and some goals his has moving into his spring.
“My role is basically when my number is called I just go out there and do what I need to do,” said LaFrance.
“My goal for the season was to get into college, I’m trying to get a scholarship and getting some people to come watch me play.”
LaFrance has played grassroots ball in the past, but he did not play last spring and summer. He’s looking to land with a program for his 17U season that will set him up for success.
“I played AAU before, but I didn’t play last summer. I have a lots of teams I could play for, but I don’t know yet who I might play with this summer,” he said.
“I want to make sure I do what I’ve got to do to get to the right college.”
Right now, he’s seen no recruitment come his way.
“I don’t really know why that might be,” he said. “I’m just hoping that I get in front of the right people and pick up some interest this spring and summer.”
