A savvy floor-general, the 5-foot-10 sophomore explained his playing style to PHMI.
“My strength is shooting and my basketball IQ, and I’m improving on defense too,” said Lewis. “I try and create my own space against my defender, and if I’m off the ball I just try and look to get open.”
Last season as a freshman, Lewis was staring with the Zebras, and this season he says he’s kicked it up a notch.
“I’ve been playing a much different role this year compared to last year. And I’ve improved a lot from last year to this year, and my coach trusts in me, which is nice,” said Lewis.
He’s unsure whether he’ll play with REACH Legends or 1Nation this summer for his 16U season, but regardless, his goal is to put himself in a position to pick up some scholarship offers.
“There’s a few colleges that have come to open gyms that have shown a little bit of interest,” said Lewis. “And this summer I’m looking to pick up some interest from some more colleges, and improve myself for next year so I can pick up offers and stuff like that next year.”
