PF Chris White (Marian Catholic – 2019)
Big fan of this 6’5” power forward. He made his debut in the last rankings after impressing us at the holiday tournaments and did it again at O’Fallon. White is a super bounce power forward that runs the floor well and is really mobile. Got on the offensive glass a couple times for put backs with his quick second jump. Finishes in the high/low game. Right now isn’t overly skilled, but flashes potential to be. Extremely efficient with his touches down low, rebounds well, and is a rim protector. White had 13 points (5-6 FG), 8 rebounds, and 2 blocks. Potential D1 target down the line if he continues to develop.
SG Malik Tidwell (Marian Catholic – 2019)
Tidwell came off the bench for Marian Catholic to light it up! The 5’10” junior scoring guard is best slashing to the hoop where he finishes with strength through contact. Also likes to convert with runners. Quality free throw shooter. He had 17 points.
SG Cyrus Alexander (Whitfield, MO – 2019)
We have seen Torrence Watson a ton for Whitfield on the grassroots circuit, but this was my first chance to see Cyrus Alexander and I came away extremely impressed. At 6’5” Alexander has long arms with good strength. He is a quality slasher that gets in the lane with long strides and has the ability to finish at the rim. Plays well in the open floor as both a finisher and handling the rock. Plays to his strengths. Didn’t take a single three, but he didn’t need too. Plus passer for a wing including one that was a full court dime on the money. Alexander finished with 15 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 boards. Needs to start to be monitored by D1 programs.
PG Pierre Black (Larkin – 2019)
This 6’1” point guard was lights out shooting it from the perimeter! He hit multiple spot up threes off the catch. Moves well without the ball and is ready to fire as soon as it touches his hands. Next step in his development will be proving he can run a team consistently. Very good effort going for 15 points.
PG Joseph Yesufu (Bolingbrook – 2019)
Yesufu is a small guard that knows how to play the game. He pushes it with his speed in the open floor. So athletic for a young point guard! Even got up to block a shot inside at one point. Streaky shooter as he did connect on one from deep. Like what he brings to the table defensively with his tenacious on ball abilities. One of the better 2019 point guards in the state. He had 7 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. D1 prospect.
PG Tyler Cochran (Bolingbrook – 2019)
Cochran is a 6’2” point guard that continues to grow on me. He just gets stuff done. Not the most athletic guard he has size and strength. The Bolingbrook sophomore did most of his scoring damage on the interior with layups. Rebounds well for a guard. He had 11 points and 6 rebounds.
PG Jaheim Holden (Evanston – 2019)
Holden is a quick and shifty left handed lead guard that likes to shoot it from deep. He puts a ton of arc on his shot and has a bit of a long release, but connects on them. Active defender. As a playmaker shows flashes of being able to run a team at the next level getting others involved. He had 13 points.
SG Lance Jones (Evanston – 2019)
Jones stands at 6’0” with solid strength and plus athleticism. He handles it well in traffic and is a good finisher in transition. Potential as a shooter and defender long term. He had 5 points.
PG Adam Miller (Peoria Manual – 2020)
Miller is the premier 2020 prospect in the state of Illinois. The 6’2” point guard is a lefty that is electric with the rock in his hands. When he was aggressive attacking in transition and off the bounce he made plays finishing at the rim. Flashy ball handler that gets through traffic with ease. He hit a wing three off the catch and had a sweet turnaround fadeaway from the mid-post. He had 11 points and 4 rebounds. High-major prospect.
SG Nimari Burnett (Morgan Park – 2020)
Burnett is one of the premier guard prospects in the state’s 2020 class. Hit a three for his only score of the game. Uber talented prospect that plays complimentary role for the Mustangs. Good athlete that is smooth with the ball in his hands. Gets where he wants to get his shot off. Struggled a bit shooting it for only 1-5 from the field, but is definitely one for D1 schools to track.
