MW8 (15) Piedmont (15-10) vs. W9 (17) Pisgah (15-7)
Freedom HS and Piedmont HS will likely meet up in the 2nd round of the NCHSAA playoffs. Piedmont is led by 6-foot-7 Hunter Tyson who has offers from Wake Forest, Clemson, East Carolina, DePaul, Davidson, Elon, Charlotte, Tennessee, and App St. Freedom is a well coached team and should figure out a game plan to get by Piedmont.

North Buncombe will more than likely have a home game against the defending NCHSAA 3-A state champs and VCU recruit Lavar Batts Jr. David Elkins will need to have his A-game when Batts comes to town. This one should go North Buncombe’s way but a strong showing will be necessary.

W2 (2) North Henderson (24-3) vs. MW15 (27) Cuthbertson (10-14)
