Another team that hasn’t lost in 2017 is the Lafayette High Lions, starting 7-0 in either the toughest or 2nd toughest district in Louisiana. If you would have ever told me heading into the season that Lafayette high would be the team to beat in their district, I would have called you crazy.
4. LCA (16-2)
Crazy stat: Since losing a shocker to Abbeville at home in December, LCA has won every single game, by an average of 47.8 points. That is absolutely ridiculous, and is both a testament to how good they are, and how bad their district is.
3. Peabody (23-3)
In two days this week, Peabody had two games. They broke the 100 point mark both times, going for 106 against Bolton on Friday and followed it up with 115 points on Saturday against Jennings. Talk about rolling! Saturday, UL Lafayette commit Cedric Russell went for 54 points on 16/25 from 3!
2. Madison Prep (21-1)
1. Scotlandville (23-1)
In my mind, these two teams are 1A. and 1B. Both are undefeated in state, except against the other. Both teams are loaded with future D1 players and All-Americans. It is truly a shame that these teams only play each other twice this year. All those in favor of an NBA style best of 7 series next year, say “Aye.” That’s what I thought.
