Lots of news on national signing day for football across the state. One storyline behind the scenes has been whether Fenwick point guard Jacob Keller would opt to take one of the football offers he has or hold out for a D1 hoops scholarship. He signed on Wednesday to play football at Northern Iowa.
Keller who is the #15 overall prospect and #5 point guard in the senior class took two official visits for basketball in the fall. There were several other basketball programs that were close to pulling the trigger on offers, but never did. I think this is one that schools especially in-state will regret down the line. This kid is a winner, leader, beast on ball defender, and has proven he can run a team as well as score.
The senior led Fenwick as the star quarterback to the state semi-finals this past season.
