What are some strengths you have in your game that make you the player that you are?
“My biggest strength is a being a three point shooter. I’m really good off the catch and I have NBA range. I’ve been working on my pull jumper and that has improved quite a bit.”
What are some of your weaknesses that you would like to work on?
“I need to work on ball handling so I can get to the basket more and not rely so much on my jumper.”
Who is the toughest player you can recall playing against in Utah High School basketball?
“Keenan Nelson from Cedar. He can score in just about every way and he is also super quick. He also makes teammates so much better.”
What is your dream college that you would want to play for and why?
“University of Utah. I’ve grown up being a Utes fan and that would be a dream to be able to play for them.”
Why should a college coach recruit you?
“I have more range from the three then almost anyone in the state. I’m shooting over 45% from the three this season. I feel once I develop my overall game I can be a really good college player.”
Who is your favorite NBA player and why?
“J.J. Redick from the LA Clippers. He’s a great shooter but he can also do other things. That’s the type of player I want to be. I love all big time shooters like Kyle Korver and Ray Allen as well.”
What is your favorite off the court activity and why?
“I enjoy hanging out with my friends and playing sports and I enjoy skateboarding.”
What do you want to major in for college?
What is your plan for after high school?
“I plan on leaving for a LDS mission this summer once I get back I would like to play college basketball.”
PrepHoops Evaluation
Mckay Lambert is one of the best three point shooters in the state of Utah. He is able to get his shot off because of his size at 6’4 and also because he can shoot well beyond the three point line. Lambert needs to improve his defense and quickness. Once he does this I see him as a really good “three and d” guy at the junior college and potentially the D2 level.
