7th Edition of Utah Player of the Week
We’re back for the 7th edition of Player of the Week in the state of Utah. Region play is over for some and coming to a close for others and we had impressive performances last week. Here are our candidates for player of the week for February 6th through February 11th. Voting is located at the bottom.
Marcus Draney 6’3 SR Guard (Skyridge) had a great week as he averaged 21.5 points per games in two games. In a huge win over Timpview, Draney scored 33 points and kept the Falcons playoff hopes alive. He has a great pull up game and is able to get to the basket. I see Draney as a good junior college prospect.
Steven Price 6’6 SR Forward (Juan Diego) has his best week of the season in leading his team two important wins and a share of region 11 title. On the week Price averaged 24 points per game including a 31 point outburst versus Morgan. He is a excited player with his highlight dunks and his ability to play in the open court. A junior college will be getting a great player in Price.
Matt Lindsey 6’3 SR Guard (Olympus) in two dominating wins this week he averaged 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists per game. Lindsey is able to score in many different ways but I have seen him taking the ball to the hoop and posting up smaller guards. He has a high IQ and is a very physical player which will translate to the next level.
Landon Jenson 6’0 SR Guard (Ridgeline) had his best week of his season as he averaged 17 points per game in two wins. In the last game of the season Jenson saved his best as he poured in 24 points including 4 three pointers to help lead Ridgeline to a share of the region 11 title. He is hearing from several junior colleges and I believe that will be a great level for him to start at.
