MVP | EMANUEL HYLTON | SJC ‘17
Emanuel Hylton contributed to his team’s win in a variety of areas. The San Diego commit hit five treys, moved extremely well without the ball, and scored a game-high 19 points.
BEST PLAY
Richard Njoku and Casey Morsell each threw down a dunk in the second half. Njoku’s was particularly fierce, and helped his team keep momentum late in the game.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | TRE WOOD | SJC ‘18
Tre Wood dished out a game-high 6 assists. The highly skilled, quick, and crafty playmaker was virtually impossible to keep out of the paint.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | REESE MONA | SJC ‘17
Reese Mona drew the assignment of Ryken’s top scorer Wynston Tabbs, and passed his test with flying colors. Mona didn’t give Tabbs much room to operate, and laid his body on the line multiple times.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | MEKHI LONG | SMR ‘19
Mekhi Long simply doesn’t stop working, and that was no different in this one. The 6’6 forward crashed the offensive boards with a purpose, and didn’t mind contact when finishing in the paint.
BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | CHRIS GREENE | SMR ‘17
Chris Greene came off the bench and hit three treys in the final minute. The Wheeling Jesuit commit is seeing results of the hard work he put on his jumper over the summer.
BEST REBOUNDER | RICHARD NJOKU | SJC ‘18
Richard Njoku is extremely strong, and isn’t afraid to bump down low in an effort to control the glass. The sturdily built 6’6 forward plays with tireless energy, and has soft hands.
BEST INTANGIBLES | EMANUEL HYLTON | SJC ‘17
Emanuel Hylton was the game’s leading scorer, but some things he did will never show up on a stat sheet. Hylton’s understanding of spacing, and unselfishness were an integral part to his team’s success..
BEST CATCH AND SHOOT GUY | REESE MONA | SJC ‘17
Reese Mona got hot in the first quarter, where he hit on all three of his attempts from “downtown”. Mona doesn’t need much room to make opponents pay, and this was evident in the early stages of this game.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | CASEY MORSELL | SJC ‘19
Casey Morsell turned in another rock-solid two-way performance for the Cadets. The broad-shouldered 6’2 guard threw down a forceful one-handed dunk in transition, and was very active on the boards.
