MVP | NANA OPOKU | POTOMAC ‘17
Nana Opoku dominated this game at times, and recorded yet another double-double in a win for his team. The Mount St. Mary’s commit forcefully protected the rim, and finished efficiently through contact.
BEST PLAY
Ely Camp sliced through the lane late in the game for two points, and Nana Opoku followed up with a huge rejection on the other end. These consecutive plays swung the momentum back in Potomac’s way for the final time.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | NANA OPOKU | POTOMAC ‘17
At 6’7, Opoku poses matchup problems on multiple levels as a result of his unique blend of skill and length. The versatile forward can also consistently convert from the foul line.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | NANA OPOKU | POTOMAC ‘17
Despite recording just two blocks, which may seem modest, Opoku altered at least a half-dozen other shots. He rebounded effectively in traffic, and delivered timely and accurate outlet passes.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | CHRISTIAN SWEAZIE | PFALLS ‘17
Christian Sweazie continues to showcase high level ability on both ends of the floor. Sweazie can really sit down and defend, but is also able to create his own shot and mix it up offensively as well.
BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | EJ WHITE | POTOMAC ‘17
EJ White was probably the X-Factor for Potomac in this one, and did it with effort and timely baskets. White took a charge, but also worked really hard on the offensive and defensive glass. The long-limbed forward can really elevate, and did a nice job securing the ball in traffic.
BEST REBOUNDER | NANA OPOKU | POTOMAC ‘17
Opoku recorded 10 rebounds, and did so in a game where the battle of the boards was paramount to his team’s success. Both team’s crashed the boards relentlessly, and every single rebound was earned.
BEST INTANGIBLES | ELY CAMP | POTOMAC ‘17
Even with his team down double-digits early, Ely Camp never got distracted, and his teammates followed his lead. Camp helped close the deal in the fourth, where he scored 7 points and hit several clutch foul shots.
BEST CATCH AND SHOOT GUY | DEVON MCDONALD | POTOMAC ‘17
Despite neither team shooting the ball particularly well from the perimeter, Devon McDonald did a nice job utilizing pump fakes to get better looks. The unsigned senior doesn’t need much room to operate, and exhibits big time confidence in his perimeter jumper.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | IAN ANDERSON | P FALLS ‘19
Ian Anderson continues to impress with his versatility on both ends of the floor. The 6’6 sophomore plays with a fantastic motor, and is very comfortable handling the ball in the open floor.
