MVP | DAVID WALLS | P FALLS ‘17
David Walls played with noticeable emotion, and fed off the crowd as he led the Panthers on a decisive 27-7 second half run. The senior finished efficiently around the basket, and converted 5 of 6 free throws in the fourth quarter.
BEST PLAY
Not one play in particular stood out, but Potomac Falls deserves a ton of credit for making up a double-digit halftime deficit. The Panthers allowed just 7 points in the third quarter, and got contributions from all of their players in this important win.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | ANDREW HARRIS | PH ‘17
Andrew Harris did everything he could to keep his team in it. After Dom Joyce fouled out early in the fourth quarter, Harris put the scoring burden on his shoulders. He recorded a game-high 19 points, and put the ball in the hole from a variety of spots on the court.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | CHRISTIAN SWEAZIE | P FALLS ‘17
Charges. 5-second counts. Rebounds. Christian Sweazie proved he is a complete defender, and a winner. The Fairmont State commit also made his impact felt offensively, where he hit several big shots.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | DOM JOYCE | PH ‘17
Dom Joyce flirted with a double-double by halftime. The 6’6 forward works super hard, and must be accounted for on the offensive glass.
BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | GRANT MISCH | P FALLS ‘18
Grant Misch was our “X-Factor” in this one. The 6’4 forward is sneaky athletic, and actively contests shots at the rim. Misch plays with commendable energy, and provided a massive spark to his team.
BEST REBOUNDER | DOM JOYCE | PH ‘17
Joyce displays quick reactions, and has great hands. He doesn’t consistently box out on defense, but when engaged can be a force on the boards.
BEST PASSER | DOM JOYCE | PH ‘17
One thing that stood out about Joyce in this one is his vision. Joyce is very comfortable with the ball in his hands, and uncommonly patient. He is also able to deliver accurate passes from a variety of angles.
BEST CATCH AND SHOOT GUY | NOAH WOODY | PH ‘18
Noah Woody hit two big threes in the first half for PH. Both of these shots came directly in front of the Panther Pit.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | IAN ANDERSON | P FALLS ‘19
Despite a slow start to the game, and four early fouls; Ian Anderson found a way to make a significant impact in this game. Defensively, the 6’6 forward proved that he’s quick enough to defend on the perimeter, and long enough to defend in the post. Anderson scored 8 of his 10 points in the fourth quarter, and demosntrated a soft touch on his shot.
