MVP | BRANDON SLATER | PVI ‘18
Brandon Slater was the most effective two-way player in this game, and it started on the defensive end where he limited DJ Harvey to just 10 points. The skilled 6’6 guard is so versatile, and took whatever the defense gave him.
BEST PLAY
Anthony Harris banked in a clutch shot as the shot clock expired to give PVI a late lead, and the Panthers followed up with one final stop stop on the other end to clinch the win.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | BRANDON SLATER | PVI ‘18
Brandon Slater didn’t force anything in this game, and somehow still ended up near the top of the scoring charts. He hit open threes, and looked for his teammates when he didn’t have enough room to operate.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | BRANDON SLATER | PVI ‘18
Slater locked up on the ball, and did a great job using his length to contest shots. The highly-touted junior was a hawk off-the ball, and was always aware of his surroundings.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | ANTHONY HARRIS | PVI ‘19
Anthony Harris banking home two of his eight points to help PVI clinch an important win.Anthony Harris hit the glass with purpose, but also hit an important shot to give his team some breathing room. The high IQ sophomore once again made the right play, and gave it his all through the final whistle.
BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | JEREMY ROBINSON | PVI ‘18
Jeremy Robinson led all bench scorers in this game w/11 points. The versatile junior scored it from the perimeter, and in the paint as well. Robinson filled the lanes correctly in transition, and consistently boxed out his man on the defensive boards.
BEST REBOUNDER | JOSH CARLTON | DEMATHA ‘17
Josh Carlton had some really nice moments in this one, and was a factor on the glass for the Stags. The 6’9 big man has great hands to go along with a soft touch around the rim.
BEST INTANGIBLES | AARON THOMPSON | PVI ‘17
Aaron Thompson got it going in the second half, and PVI took over. The reliable floor general did a bit of everything, and clearly showed he cared about winning this game. The future Pitt Panther recorded 8 PTS, 7 REB, and 5 AST.
BEST CATCH AND SHOOT GUY | JUSTIN GIELEN | DEMATHA ‘18
Justin Gielen is a knock-down three point shooter, and this was very evident as he hit three of four from “downtown” in the first half. The underrated defender moves well off the ball, and doesn’t need much time to get his shot off. Gielen led the stags with 16 PTS.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | JEREMY ROACH | PVI ‘20
Jeremy Roach impressed with his ability to consistently create looks for himself and others. The uber-talented frosh recorded 14 PTS and 3 AST on 5/10 from the field.
