North Tech was the No. 4 seed and McCluer South-Berkeley was the No. 5 seed and the game played out like two such seeded teams, which was very competitive. In the end, a smaller McCluer South-Berkeley utilized its team quickness and outlasted North Tech 73-68.

Now, it’s time for the best of McCluer South-Berkeley-North Tech
MVP: Berlin Roberson (McCluer South-Berkeley) – The 5’8″ 2017 point guard scored a game-high 30 points, which included 15 points in the fourth quarter when he really started to get busy with the scoring. North Tech tried to play a box-and-one defense, which limited his 3-point shooting, but he got to the free throw line early and often. Then, he took over in the fourth quarter.
Best Offensive Player: Berlin Roberson (McCluer South-Berkeley) – Normally one of the area’s top 3-point shooters, Roberson scored his 30 points with only one made 3-pointer and that came in the fourth quarter. He did an excellent job of driving the ball and getting to the free throw line. As the floor opened up in the fourth quarter, he scored on several nice drives to the bucket.
Best Shooter: Erik Hicks (North Tech) – In his last high school game, the 6’2″ 2017 guard scored a team-high 21 points, That included three 4-pointers and a couple of nice mid-range jumpers off the bounce.
Best Young Prospect (2019, 2020): Elijah Hicks (North Tech) – The younger brother of Erik Hicks, Elijah is a thick-body 6’2″ 2019 forward who scored 19 points. He physical strength and versatile skills made his a tough match-up. He could score on the drive, post up and knock down 3-pointers.
Best Bench Player: Andre Pruitt (North Tech) – The 6’2″ 2017 guard scored 10 points off the bench for the Golden Eagles. Pruitt is a athletic guard who did an excellent job of attacking the basket off the dribble.
Best Passer: Jaden Henderson (McCluer South-Berkeley) – A 5’8″ 2018 point guard, Henderson handed out five assists and really did an nice job of running the show for the Bulldogs. He displayed impressive court vision as he dropped some really nice dimes in traffic to open teammates.
Mr. Hustle: Tyriq Arties (McCluer South-Berkeley) – The 5’11” 2017 forward gives away several inches to opponents around the basket, but he makes up for it with a high motor and lots of activity. He scored nine points and grabbed his share of rebounds and loose balls.
Best Inside Player: Jordan Cole (McCluer South-Berkeley) – A standout football player on the Bulldogs’ state semifinalist, the 6’2″ 2017 forward was tough around the basket as he scored 18 points. He finished nearly everything around the hoop.
