Play of the Game : Jack Theodore – Hammond (2017)
Theodore knocked down a 3 pointer at the buzzer to end the 3rd quarter and make the score the 52-42. The Skyhawks never lost the momentum heading into the 4th quarter.
Best Offensive Performance : Joe Powell – First Baptist (2019)
Powell kept the Hurricanes close with his play today. Powell scored 22 points and connected on 3 behind the arc.
Jack Theodore #1
Best Defensive Performance : Jack Theodore – Hammond (2017)
Theodore took several charges today and was always in the right position to make a play for the Skyhawks. Theodore is a 3 sport athlete.
Lucas Prickett #5
Best Intangibles : Lucas Prickett – Hammond (2018)
Prickett is a tough nosed kid literally. Prickett was wearing a nose mask during the game. Prickett is a Wide Receiver on the gridiron. Prickett finished with 10 points.
Best Guy off the Bench : Trent Green – Hammond (pictured on front)
Green led the Skyhawks with 17 points today. Green made several just all-out hustle plays to the floor along with hitting some mid-range jumpers in the win.
Joe Powell
Best Under the Radar Performance : Joe Powell – First Baptist (2019)
Powell scored 22 points today for the Hurricanes in the loss. Powell transferred in from nearby Northwood Academy when his mother took the Athletic Director job at the school. Powell is a tough gritty player who can make shots.
Best Underclassmen : Mikey Dukes – First Baptist (2019)
Dukes is the leader of the Hurricanes. Dukes a strong point guard excels also on the football field for the Hurricanes. Dukes scored just 12 points today in the loss.
Best Project to Watch : Isaiah Washington – Hammond (2018)
Washington has a very quick first step and can really push the ball in transition. Washington shows quick hands and hit some big shots today in the win. Washington finished with 15 points.
Best Takeaway :
The Skyhawks played mostly 7 guys today played with a lot of fire and took First Baptist out of there game plan. The Skyhawks had great balance scoring to win this game. Josh Lipsitz added 13 points in the win.
The Hurricanes finish the season under Head Coach Tony Eady with a very bright future. The Hurricanes will lose Ahmad Green (Newberry Football recruit) and that’s it off this seasons roster.
