MVP | RYAN ALLEN | DM ‘17
Ryan Allen was the best player on the floor in this game, and has been perhaps the best player for DeMatha this season. The Delaware commit scored a game-high 26 points, but also defended well.
BEST PLAY
DJ Harvey dunked on a defender right in front of the DeMatha student section, and this really got the crowd going. The Stags didn’t lose much momentum from that point forward.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | RYAN ALLEN | DM ‘17
Allen hit numerous tough shots, and continues to expand the range on his jumper. The 6’2 lefty drilled two threes with under two minutes left to help clinch the win for his team.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | JAY HEATH JR. | DJO ‘19
Jay Heath Jr. played his butt off defensively, and came up with a couple of steals to go along with a handful of deflections. The long & lanky guard is also a good rebounder from his position.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | MATT LEWIS | DJO ‘17
Matt Lewis is a great competitor, and this was evident throughout the contest. The JMU commit did a nice job mixing it up offensively, and finished well with his off hand in traffic.
BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | JAY HEATH JR. | DJO ‘19
Heath operated at the point at times, and did a great job helping his team get into their sets. The talented sophomore also drilled two treys.
BEST REBOUNDER | QUENTIN MILLORA-BROWN | DJO ‘18
Quentin Millora-Brown is so good at controlling the ball high off the glass and securing it from opponents in traffic. The 6’9 big man plays with a tremendous motor, and has solid box out fundamentals.
BEST INTANGIBLES | RYAN ALLEN | DM ‘17
Games in this league usually come down to the wire, and it’s important to have a point guard who demonstrates poise in those situations. All season long, Allen has been rock solid when his team needs him most.
BEST CATCH AND SHOOT GUY | MATT BECHT | DJO ‘18
Matt Becht got hot, and made DeMatha pay for not consistently attempting to contain him. The sharpshooting junior drilled three from “downtown”, and did a great job working to get open off the ball
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | JAY HEATH JR. | DJO ‘19
Heath possesses intriguing versatility, and clearly cares about winning. He’s a hard worker, and will only continue to get better with experience.
