Play of the Game: Tyquan Porter- Dillon (2018)
Porter layup and was foul to extend the Wildcats lead to 32-29 with: 08 seconds left in the half. This was the closest that Bishop England would get in the game.
Best Offensive Performance: Christian Drummond-Bishop England (2017)
Drummond scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds to keep the Battling Bishop close in the game.
Best Defensive Performance: Keenan Norman-Dillon (2017)
Norman had five steals and was a pest on defense. Norman caused the Battling Bishops havoc all night in the back court.
INTANGIBLES: Dillon Backcourt
Dillon’s Backcourt pressure caused several key turnovers by the Bishop England guards.
Best Guy off the Bench: Rasheem McClam-Dillon (2017)
McClam plays in the post for the Wildcats. McClam just 6’4 can play inside-out on the floor. McClam left late in the game with an injury.
Best Underclassmen: Leo Albano-Bishop England (Charleston) (2018)
Albano is a 6’1 guard for the Battling Bishop. Albano is a great ball handler and will take control of the offense when Brendan McHale leaves the court.
Under the Radar: Rakeem Fletcher- Dillon 2018
Fletcher is a 5’8 guard for the Wildcats. Fletcher has a mid-range shot and he also hit the three.
Project: Za-Reon Hayes-Dillon (2018)
Hayes just 6’4 plays in the post for the Wildcats. Hayes shows a great wing span to block and alter shots on the defensive end.
Takeaway:
Dillon beat Bishop England for the second straight year in the playoffs. Wildcats Head coach Lee Page has the Wildcats playing in Florence this coming Saturday in the Lower State Championship game.Last season, Dillon was led by Michael McRae, Jr. who stepped down to take an administer role in Dillon School District. Christian Drummond and Brendan McHale will remain teammates next season at the University of the South (TN).
