MVP: Les Thomas Heritage Hall
The obvious MVP is Les Thomas because whenever he was called on he delivered for HH. Thomas could not miss from distance and was extremely efficient in scoring 31 points.
Top offensive performance: Les Thomas Heritage Hall
Thomas was dominant from beginning to end and shot the lights out. The senior guard let if fly from deep and he was pressured all night.
Top defensive performance: Sayvon Milton Heritage Hall
Milton did a great job of playing physical with the star Brady Manek. Milton has an impressive frame and he used it to move Manek off his spots.
Milton was disruptive on the defensive end for the Chargers. Milton and William McDonald were key in holding Manek to 13 points.
Top Shooter: Les Thomas Heritage Hall
Thomas barely hit rim tonight after scoring 31 points with a majority of them coming from deep. In a game where both teams struggled to score, Thomas stepped and showed he is one of the best shooters in the state.
Top future prospects: Michael McLaughlin and William McDonald Heritage Hall
These two sophomores were critical part of a Chargers victory. They both are long and rangy but can handle the ball and set the offense. This is just the beginning for this feisty duo who will lead the Chargers to success in the future.
Top Big Man: Brady Manek Harrah
This was not Manek’s best showing as he put up 13 points. Manek struggled with the extreme physicality of Heritage Hall but began to get it going fr0m the second quarter on.
Top Ball handler: Jon Matthews Heritage Hall
Matthews struggled with his shot throughout the night but made big plays down the stretch to finish with 12 points. A great scoring night from Matthews and this one wouldn’t have been close. Matthews did do a great job of finding Thomas and others.
What going forward: HH is a true contender; Manek has a lot to carry
Heritage Hall has all the capabilities of winning a 4A championship this year. They rely a bunch on talented underclassmen but they have Thomas and Milton to lean on.
Brady Manek and Carlos Slaughter have to play great every night for Harrah to finish atop 4A. Manek has a lot of pressure on him offensively to put up godly numbers which must be tough. If there is anyone in the state talented enough to put a team on his back it’s Manek.
