“The season so far has been good,” Paper told PHD. “We have started out 8-0, but we know as a team that we are a little slow offensively, and we need to improve on that if we want to continue to stay undefeated.”
In 27 minutes a game Paper is averaging 17.2 points, an outstanding 11.9 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks a game. Jake is shooting 50 percent from the floor on his 14 shots a game and has made nearly a third of the 4-5 threes he attempts each game.
“As a senior, I knew that I would have to step up and take on a larger role as a leader on my team,” Jake said. “I, along with my other senior teammates, need to set the pace during the games and continue to push ourselves as well as the rest of our team.”
When you put up those kind of numbers, grew another inch, and play on the number one ranked team in the state, you start to earn some more looks from the next level.
“Some schools that I have visited and talked basketball with are Concordia (Moorhead), U of Minnesota-Duluth, South Dakota School of Mines, and South Dakota State University,” Jake said.
“As of now there is no plan for next year, but I hope sometime soon I am able to make my decision.”
