Tindley has played a tough schedule for a 1A team including four top 4A teams. With this type of schedule they really have to work together to stay on track.
“Definitely just staying together the whole time,” Hunter said. “The whole 32 minutes of every game. Just getting past things like refs and size just look through at what our goal is and keep the mindset.”
Over the summer Hunter worked on a few things that really helped him take his game to the next level this year. He has really performed well and can either play on the perimeter or post up on the inside and use his quickness to score. He also worked on getting more athletic to be able to finish at the rim at a higher rate.
“I’ve gotten stronger over the summer and it lets me post guys up,” Hunter said. “Just my playmaking skills have gotten better. That (athleticism) has definitely impacted me. I can take off now. Getting stronger has helped that, my core strength has helped. I can finish over the top of guys rather than just squeak it there.”
All of this work has paid off for Hunter who has multiple high major offers all from Creighton, Nebraska, Michigan, IU, Purdue, Butler, Xavier, East Carolina, with Minnesota being the latest. Hunter has been on visits thus far to Indiana, Xavier and Butler with the Butler visit being the most recent. With all the success he is having this year it’s not hard to see the number of offers Hunter has rise over the next few months and even into the summer.
“Definitely just the family atmosphere,” Hunter said of his Butler visit. “Everyone is on the same page. Everybody knows their role and who can do this and who can do that. They play very well together.”
