The 6’4″ senior has been a huge contributor over the four years averaging 9.7 points per game as a freshman and just over 12 the two years following. This season, he’s posting an 11.8 PPG average next to Rider commit Paxton Wilson.
The Warriors are currently 14-4 on the season and 3-1 in Class 4A-4, sitting one game behind Seffner Christian. Williams had this to say about his senior campaign so far.
“We lost some tough games this season but we have also won some tough ones,” he said. “Our team is full of great players from the starters to our secondary players. Our goals are to get to states and in order to do that we have to work hard and put in the time to do so.”
Williams added a team-best 15 points along with four rebounds in a big 70-62 win playing at district rival Tampa Prep on Tuesday.
He says he needs to work on finishing and getting low on his moves away from the basket. Williams has noticed his shooting improved this season and his ability to keep his head up more.
Williams doesn’t have an offer yet, but he’s drawing interest from Kennesaw State, Nova Southeastern and Northern Arizona. He plays AAU ball for Team Under Pressure and that certainly helps coaches see him more.
He says that Kennesaw State has shown him the most love as of late along with a couple of Division-II and JUCO programs.
“I think I can be a game changer on the defensive end and also in transition,” Williams said about his game.
There isn’t much to dislike about his game. Williams is steady and rarely makes a mistake on either side of the ball. He gets outside to knock down open jumpers and is a hard worker inside. Playing alongside some very smart kids at Calvary Christian, Williams is one of the top guys. He should land a Division-II offer very soon.
