The 6-foot-6 sophomore received his first offer last July from from area Division II program Urbana, other schools are sending mail. And he has one mid-major Division I school in particular that he’s got his eye on.
“Ohio State has sent me a couple letters, Xavier has sent me a couple letters. Ohio has shown a lot of interest, and Lake Erie has shown a lot of interest. Davidson has sent me a couple letters too,” said Landis.
“I hope that a lot more schools become interested in me, and I really hope Butler starts looking at me. They’ve been to one of my AAU games, but that’s it. I really like how they move the ball, and how they always play hard, and I feel like I’d fit in well there.”
Currently ranked 30th in Ohio’s 2019 prospect rankings, Landis has been making an impact while coming off the bench this season for the Tigers.
He’s playing behind Ohio’s 4th-ranked 2017 Sterling Manley.
“When I’m in the game, I like to make an impact by rebounding and being really physical, and blocking shots and running the floor a lot,” said Landis. “And I like shooting the 3 a lot, and that’s something that I’ve worked on a lot lately.”
Landis added: “It’s kind of hard to get a lot of playing time playing behind Sterling, but when my number’s called I like to go in there and run the floor a lot, block shots and rebound. I try to not to do too much, but just be a good teammate and be positive and run the floor.”
