Q: What is it like playing at Oak Hill Academy?
A: It’s great! I get to play against the best of the best everyday and I have some really good coaches. There isn’t anywhere better to be to develop as a player.
Q: Who is the toughest player to play against in practice?
A: For me it would have to be Devontae Shuler (4-star 6’3 Ole Miss signee) he always has energy and he pushes me and the whole team everyday.
Q: Judge Memorial vs. Oak Hill Academy
A: The education part of school is tougher at Judge, there is definitely a lot more home work at Judge. The basketball piece is very different too. The game is a lot faster and every player is stronger and more versatile. To top it off everyone’s mindset is different as well. I love it! All of these experiences will help me make an impact at the next level.
Q: What is it like putting on that Oak Hill Academy jersey?
A: When we are in the locker room getting ready for a game there is a certain feeling you get, because we are trying to take one more step to get closer to a National Championship. It’s exciting. Putting on a Oak Hill jersey is humbling knowing that you’re playing for something bigger and representing the same team as the likes of Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rando and more. There are so many kids that would love to be in our position, so we take full-advantage of the opportunities we get.
As a role player at Oak Hill Academy that is currently ranked 3rd in the state of Virginia, Ben has received some interest from schools like UTEP, USD and UTRGV. Schools interested in Ben will be getting a hard working student that has a high ceiling on the court.
