The 6’3″, 215-pound Lakeland sophomore has helped the Dreadnaughts start off 10-7. Next to fellow sophomore big man Luke Anderson, Dyer is really thriving in a key role.
He scored eight points in a 65-39 victory over Santa Fe Catholic last Saturday at Clearwater High. Most impressively, Dyer stepped up when Anderson found himself in foul trouble early in the second quarter.
Dyer has lofty goals for this season.
“We really want to get ready for districts and put as much work as we can on & off the court,” he said. “This season we’ve improved on talking more on defense, boxing out and rebounding.”
Currently, he holds one offer from Southeastern.
“I want to be a game changer on defense, bring a different intensity into the game and let my teammates feed off of it,” Dyer said.
This is a strong kid whether he’s playing in the paint or trying to shut down an opposing star. Dyer is coming into his own this season at a steady program that is Lakeland.
Look for him to become a household name before the year is over. He can certainly play Division-I ball or be a steady presence in Division-II.
