The Santa Fe Catholic senior helped the Hawks reach the Class 3A region quarterfinals last season with a 23-1 record. Now in 4A, Alamm and Santa Fe Catholic are currently 8-4.
I had a chance to see Alamm (No. 2 in the photo) play last Saturday in a loss to Lakeland at Clearwater High. He had six points and flashed tremendous ball handling ability. The 6’0″, 160-pounder can stretch the floor, pace an offense and shoot from outside when needed.
On Tuesday night in an 88-64 loss to a highly talented First Academy group, Alamm stepped up with a 25-point performance.
Alamm had this to say about his team’s season so far.
“We have games where we play hard and take care of business but like most teams, we also have games that we don’t play to our full potential.”
He wants to get improve his leadership skills and encourage everyone around him to play to their full potential.
Alamm says he’s seen his ability to score in bunches take the next step forward.
“Nothing feels forced and I think I can take care of what needs to be done,” he said.
No offers have come his way, but Alamm has drawn interest from Flagler, Southeastern, FGCU and a couple of other Division-II programs.
He says be believes that he can settle in nicely at the next level.
“If it is necessary I can play the point guard position but also I’m familiar and have been playing the shooting guard position,” Alamm said. “I think I can fit best at a fast paced team that likes to shoot the ball often.”
Alamm is a fast backcourt player. He shows plenty of basketball smarts throughout games whether he’s scoring a lot or simply getting his teammates involved. His game translates well in college simply because he plays with poise.
