The junior is a standout on both the hardwood and the gridiron, and says he likes both sports about the same right now.
His basketball recruitment has been limited to one area Division I program.
“I’ve heard from Southeastern (Louisiana) and I went to their camp, but I don’t have any letters or calls or anything,” said Robertson. “I’m just continuing to work hard and it will pay off.”
When the interest and potential offers do come in, Robertson says he’s hoping for some out-of-state schools to be involved.
“I’m hoping my recruitment comes along a little more, and I get more offers,” said Robertson. “And I really want to go out of state, and I really just want to explore.”
A defensive back and wide receiver on the gridiron, Robertson has been talking to a couple college football coaches, but has no offers.
“It’s still hard to decide at this time (which sport I like more) because I really like both of them the same; it’ll just be whatever I get the best (scholarship) from, and where I feel is the best environment.”
Robertson is a player who predicates his game on defense, and is a nice compliment to Louisiana’s 4th-ranked 2017 Jared Butler.
“My strength is defense, I’m a great defender. And I can knock down 3s. And my job is to knock down shots and be the coach on the court,” said Robertson, who spoke highly of his back-court mate, Butler.
“Jared is so good, and he’s one of the best 2018 players in the state, easily. And it’s just real nice to play alongside a player like that.”
Another strong suit of Robertson, is leadership — a role he’s comfortable with on and off the court.
“Even off the court I make sure everyone is doing good in classes and everything,” he said. “I’m just the coach on and off the court — that’s really my role.”
