After dislocating his knee and missing almost all of Meadowdale’s non-league schedule, he just started playing again a month ago. During his absence, Barhoum reflected on how important basketball was to him.
“That injury has made me appreciate high school basketball and my teammates much more then I did before,” Barhoum said.
At 6-3, Barhoum is an aggressive guard who loves to attack the basket. He likes to play in transition and create space for himself and teammates to make plays. He also brings a leadership aspect to the game.
“I see myself as a leader on the court,” Barhoum said. “Whether that be directing players where to go and what to do or keeping everyone composed.”
One thing Barhoum wants to improve is his three-point shot and becoming a more consistent threat taking jump shots.
Barhoum is extremely interested in playing basketball at the collegiate level. He is planning on traveling with his AAU team, North City, this summer to help the recruiting process.
A key part of the recruiting process will be competing in the WESCO Conference all season long as well.
“WESCO is an extremely competitive conference and very balanced from top to bottom,” Barhoum said. “If your team decides not to show up on any given night it won’t be a fun evening.”
Barhoum currently averages 13.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and a block per game this season in just four games.
