Player of the Game: Brantly Thompson 2017 Wing Tuttle (Signed OBU)
Thompson was tremendous scoring in all three phases of the game. Things that set him apart is his high basketball IQ. When double teams came his way Thompson dominated the game by giving the ball to his open teammates setting them up for easy looks at the hoop. He was physical in the paint, which allowed him to bully defenders with ease. Thompson finished with 21 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists.
Offensive Player of the Game: Garrett Rouse 2019 Shooting Guard Tuttle
Rouse is a young player who is starting to figure varsity basketball out. He won’t wow you with his athleticism, but gets the job done by doing the fundamentals. Rouse scored the ball best getting to the basket. He did knock in a few jumpers and has a good looking shot. He could be one of the better small college kids when the Oklahoma 2019 Class rolls around.
Defensive Player of the Game: Grady Allen 2018 Shooting Guard Tuttle
Grady Allen was an easy pick for the defensive player of the game. He shut down Blanchard’s best player Aaron Brooks who was averaging over 20 points per game. When Allen came in the game he face guarded his opponent taking him completely out of the game. Allen was the key to Tuttle defeating Blanchard in the way they did.
Under the Radar Player: Aaron Brooks 2017 Shooting Guard Blanchard
On a night where Brooks did not play his best, when Blanchard did get the ball in his hands in the first half he shot the cover off the ball. Brooks could be a nice NAIA Division II player at the next level with his shooting stroke. He is not a go to player at the next level, but could be a nice role player as a freshman.
Hustle Player of the Game: Drake Vittitow 2017 Shooting Guard Blanchard
Vittitow scored the ball well from Blanchard he did step up when they were struggling offensively. You would have liked to see Blanchard get the ball in his hands more often. Vittitow scores the ball best from mid-range. He projects to the NAIA Division II level.
