It was a close game midway through the forth quarter when the Bombers went on a run behind the play of Keyshawn Embery, Derrick Walter Jr., Jalen Redmond and Josh Rivers. All four players ended up with double figures.
MVP: Keyshawn Embery 2018 Midwest City Combo Guard
Embery dominated the second half after a slow start in the opening half. Embery got going with drives to the rim. He had trouble getting his jump shot to fall, but hit a couple in the second half. Embery was super explosive and did a great job of keeping his teammates involved.
Best Offensive player: Derrick Walter Jr. 2018 Midwest City Wing
Walter is the hidden gem for Low Major Division I programs looking for a 6’5 smooth Wing. He did a great job of moving without the basketball to find openings for himself behind the arc. Walter is getting better at driving to the rim as well.
Best Defensive player: Jalen Redmond 2018 Midwest City Forward
Redmond is one of the top prospects in the 2018 Oklahoma class in football and basketball. He plays with such great aggression on both ends of the floor. He caused Lawton Ike to struggle around the rim with his ability to block and contest shots.
Microwave: Josh Rivers 2018 Midwest City Point Guard
Rivers is turning into one of the better 2018 Point Guards in Oklahoma. He is sneaky fast and very shifty. Rivers does a great job of getting his teammates involved with precise passes to get them good looks at the basket. Against Lawton Ike Rivers heated up quickly scoring the Bombers first 8 points of the game. He stayed hot all night long from the field finishing with 17. Rivers doesn’t force shots, which makes him so efficient at the Point Guard spot.
Hustler of the game: RJ Fisher 2018 Lawton Ike Point Guard
Fisher did not have the results he wished for with the Eagles struggling down the stretch. With that said Fisher gave everything he had up until the last minute. He really played well throughout the night finding his teammates open looks the shots did not fall as much as the Eagles would have liked them to. Fisher was also great at getting to the rim.
