Prep Hoops Colorado 3A Team Rankings: Week 6
After a lengthy break for most schools in 3A, the teams were back in action last week, and the return to the court brought some movement into our rankings.
Let’s take a look at where teams stand after games played through Saturday, Dec. 7:
1. Resurrection Christian (9-0; LW: 2)
The Cougars sprang back to action and kept their perfect record in tact by beating Coal Ridge 76-73 behind 29 points from Tanner Ervin, who has continued a scintillating senior season in RC’s rise up from 2A. The victory also put the Cougars in the top spot of our rankings for the first time.
2. Colorado Springs Christian (6-1; Last week: 1)
The Lions split a pair of games against 5A teams at the Rampart tournament last week, losing to the host 70-54 and then beating Fruita Monument 54-51 in overtime. They get another big test tonight in the form of a game against 4A Pueblo West, a matchup of defending state champs in their respective classifications.
3. Manitou Springs (7-0; LW: 3)
The Mustangs finally return to the court Tuesday after a nearly month-long layoff, hosting Ellicott. Look for a big game out of 6-0 junior guard Cole Sienknecht, who is averaging 14 points per game and is shooting 89 percent from the free-throw line.
