Player of the Week: Jan. 23–Jan. 29
Jack Sorenson, Lakeville South: In a win against Shakopee last week, Jack scored 17 points, which put him over 2,000 for his career and secured the all-time school career scoring mark. He added 26 points on Friday against Prior Lake, including a half-court, game-typing shot to go to overtime.
JaVonni Bickham, Minnehaha Academy: Matched up against Northern Illinois-committed center Owen Hamilton, Bickham scored 30 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a win over Prescott (Wisc.).
Nate Reuvers, Lakeville North: First, Reuvers did 18 points and 17 points versus Eagan. Then, Nate notched a dominant stat line against Burnsville, logging 33 points and 22 rebounds. To cap off the big week, on Saturday he did 33 pts and 8 rebounds against La Crosse Central (Wisc).
McKinley Wright, Champlin Park: Wright’s triple-double of 27 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists helped push Champlin Park over Hopkins last week 99-79, maintaining the Rebels’ perfect record. A double-double of 19 and 10 followed on Saturday over Coon Rapids.
Michael Jones, Woodbury: Michael is one of the hottest scorers in the state, helping the Royals top Edina 92-83 last week with 39 points. He also added 26 on Friday in a win over Forest Lake.
