The Mid-Week High Five: Sorenson joins exclusive company
The Mid-Week High Five runs you back through the earlier part of the week and honors Jack Sorenson who joins a small group of big school players historically.
Top Five Performances
- On Tuesday Jack Sorenson surpassed the 2,000 point total for his career giving him 2,008 total. Jack did this against Shakopee facing a box and one but managed to make six of nine shots for 17 points. Sorenson became the 21st big school player ever in Minnesota to surpass 2,000 points. He joins names like Tyus Jones, Khalid El-Amin, Troy Bell, Rick Rickert, Sam Jacobson, and others among those 21.
- Walt McGrory scored 38 points and became the all time leading scorer in Edina history this Tuesday. Walt and the Hornets played a great game with Woodbury but lost in overtime.
- Michael Jones of Woodbury scored 39 to lead the Royals over Edina. The red hot junior wing continues to field calls from many programs including most recently Northern Iowa.
- Isaac Habedank of NCE/U-H scored 27 points with 20 rebounds in a blowout win over Climax-Fisher and 20 and 15 of that came in the first half! Isaac is a 6-foot-3 junior power forward.
- The Goanar Mar board grabbing streak of 20 plus ended after three games but hey, 31 points and 14 rebounds is pretty good too! The George Mason forward teamed with Gabe Kalscheur to both score 30 plus in the win over Fridley (Gabe had a career high 30).
Extra. McGregor junior shooting guard Carson Passer knocked out nine three pointers in a win over Carlton recently to score, 49 points in the one point win! Passer is a 20 plus per game junior scorer who made a name for himself scoring 15 a game as a sophomore. Carson, a six foot shooting guard, has a perfect 4.0 grade point average too!
