Hueitt: Pretty much just taking my leadership and experience from all the other teams that I’ve been with and just using it toward this team. We are on a good winning streak right now and we are playing together, just having a lot of fun this season.
Q: What is it in particular that you do as a leader?
Hueitt: The young players look up to me so I just make sure I’m on time for everything, being vocal, keeping a positive attitude and just teaching them everything. Just taking on a bigger role and being a big brother of the team and guiding them.
Q: I have watched you play since like 8th grade and seen you shoot a ton but now you seem like you’re expanding your game is that something you worked on?
College they are going to have me playing PG and SG so I’m getting use to handling the ball more and being more physical. Just trying to add to my game more to get ready for the next level and to be harder to guard instead of being known as just a shooter.
Q: You signed to ODU, what’s it been like on your visits there?
Hueitt: It’s crazy there! I went to the VCU game it was sold out , like 12,000 people there it was crazy, and I also went to the Howard game they had over Christmas break and it was still almost a sellout. The coaching staff talks to me every day just about how they want to use me and what not, they even tried to get me to come up a semester early. I’m just happy to hear how excited they are about getting me up there and that’s why I committed to them
Q: Each game what do you feel like you have to do?
Make my presence known, I have to be more of a defensive stopper, help others on defense, score, create for others, I get face guarded a lot, so I gotta be ready to create for others so the offense can continue to flow.
Q: As a shooter myself I had pregame rituals, they say us shooters are superstitious, is there something you do before every game?
Hueitt: I gotta have Apple Juice and Cheese ItZ before every game, gotta have it! Other than that just chill, take a pre-game nap.
Q: Favorite Artist to listen to right now?
Hueitt: This may sound weird to some people but Trey Songs
Q: Favorite NBA Team & Fav NBA Player?
Hueitt: Clippers, and Jamal Crawford
Q: Since he’s your favorite player how did you feel when you got the tweet from him?
Hueitt: It was crazy, it was late, like past midnight. I was on facetime and I saw J-Crossover tweeted me and I was like man that can’t be him, so I looked and it was him. I freaked out, my mom was sleep and I ran in and was yelling to her that Jamal Crawford had just tweeted me. We ended up having a inbox conversation and I talked to his trainer and ended up having a phone call with him and so that was great , and we are trying to set up something so I can work out with him so I’m really excited about that.
