3 Jay Small (2017, Hinton) 7.6
Not only is he one of the state’s best scorers, and perhaps its best shooter, but Small drops dimes all over the court too. He’s got a South Dakota offer to his name, but is still very much an available prospect. Small is averaging 23.1 points per game this season in addition to the high assist numbers, and is a legit 50-40-90 threat.
4 Trey Castle (2017, Treynor) 7.4
Castle has been a impact player for the Cardinals since his freshman campaign, and this season is his turn to be the main man. Junior Dillon Faubel has emerged as a great scorer for Treynor, and that’s undoubtedly helped Castle’s assists numbers. Castle leads his team in steals and rebounds too.
5 Nick Finney (2017, Pella) 7.33
Pella has played a tough early-season schedule, but still has gotten off to a 5-1 start. It’s Nick Finney that’s been orchestrating the Dutch offense, and he’s finding standout forward Ryan VanWyk often. No doubt one of 1A’s most complete players, Demers was recently featured in out “Top Scorers” article also. He does a little bit of everything for the Panthers, and he does it all very well. As he goes, the Panthers go, and he has them out to a 6-0 start to their season.

The 6-foot-2 Keota senior is enjoying a tremendous season, and has helped spark a six game win streak for his Eagles after an uncharacteristic 0-2 start to the season. His best game was in a season-opening loss to Keota, when he dished out 9 dimes to go with his 24 points and 8 rebounds.
