We were there the last day of action to see some thrilling games along with one of the best 4A vs. 1A games we will see this year. Here’s a look back at some of the best junior performers on the day.
Eric Hunter – 6’3/SG/2018 – Tindley – The performance of the day goes to Hunter. He took over the game for Tindley and scored 36 points in the championship game. Hunter got to the rim and finished, hit mid-range jumpers with ease and also knocked down three long balls. Hunter also added nine rebounds for an outstanding performance. Against a higher level of competition it was a great game that showed why Hunter is a HM- kind of player.
Hunter White – 6’3/SG/2018 -Tindley – White is basically Hunter’s side kick and they are a great duo together. The most talented scoring combination in 1A since probably last year they both are capable of filling the stat book. White made two clutch lay-ins at the end of regulation and scored 26 total in the game. He’s an under-the-radar kid at this point and his stock should explode this coming summer. He can do it all.
Christian Harvey – 6’/SG/2018 – Richmond – Harvey is Richmond’s workhorse in all facets of the game. He scores the bulk of their points and really is just a strong player. One of the the highest scorers in the state this year, he has not disappointed. This game was a bit of a struggle for him as Park Tudor keyed on him, but he showcased his passing ability. Harvey had four assists and continually made the right passes.
Walter Ellis – 6’5/SF/2018 – SB Adams – Ellis may have been one of the most impressive players in the tournament in regards to ability to create and score off the looks he gave himself. Ellis is a scorer in many different ways. He got to the line and converted 10/11 and made five field goals. He did not make a shot from behind the arc but he definitely can hit from behind it. He had a line of 20/13 and really was the motor behind SB Adams. He’s a HM kid and already getting a few offers from MMs as well as one from Cal.
Ian Mulle – 6’5/C/2018 – Portage – A prospect we didn’t know coming in was Mulle and in the final day he played really well. He scored 12 points and added five rebounds. He stepped out and drained two threes and for the most part looked pretty fluid with the ball. He needs to work on positioning a bit but plays much bigger than what he is listed at.
