Kris Wilkes didn’t score in the first quarter but still ended with 23 points in just 23 minutes of game time. North Central dominated every facet of the game in the rout.
Leading scorers: North Central: Kris Wilkes 23, Mateo Rivera 15, Emmanuel Little 13.
Leading rebounders: North Central: Kris Wilkes 12, Emmanuel Little 8.
MVP: Kris Wilkes (North Central)
Wilkes was a beast in this game doing pretty much whatever he wanted. It took him a bit to get some shots up but once he did he put them up in bunches to score 23 points. It was not his best game but any day you can put up 23 and 12 you are doing something right.
Best offensive performance: Mateo Rivera (North Central)
Rivera continued his great play this year with a 15 point performance and added in five assists. He shot the ball well from deep and continues to run the offense really well. Rivera shot 4/7 from deep and continually passed up shots to give the ball to his teammates for them to knock down shots.
Best defensive performance: Emmanuel Little (North Central)
Little was a beast on the defensive side of the ball in the game. He had four blocks and pretty much just over powered his man. Little is very strong and very quick and not many guys can handle that type of strength. Little will wear you down and that’s what happened in this one. He had a few monster blocks.
Best under-the-radar performance: DJ Johnson (North Central)
Johnson scored nine points on 3/4 shooting from the floor and was a huge asset for North Central on both ends of the ball. He had two steals and two assists as well as his scoring. Johnson complimented the big three players for North Central nicely in this game.
Best guy off the bench: Donald Lee (North Central)
Lee came off the bench to score five points, grab three rebounds and also add in a steal, block, and dish out an assist. He came in and made a difference in the game right away and didn’t really take the talent level of the team down at all. He’s just a junior and should make a splash next year as he sees more time.
