What are some strengths you have in your game that make you the player that you are?
“I’m a quick and crafty guard and I’m able to get to the hoop and score. I’m a better three point shooter than people think and I have been able to knock them down this year.”
What are some of your weaknesses that you would like to work on?
“I definitely need to get bigger and stronger so I can compete at the college level.”
Who is the toughest player you can recall playing against in Utah High School basketball?
“Hunter Erickson from Timpview. He’s so explosive with his first step and is able to raise up and shoot over anyone.”
What team on your schedule do you want to beat the most and why?
“Mountain View. I actually live in their boundaries and decided to attend Timpanogoes to play basketball. It would be nice to beat them my senior year.”
What team that isn’t on your schedule in Utah do you want to play the most and why?
“Woods Cross. They have been ranked high all year and I would like to see where we stand with them.”
How do you see your team doing this year?
“I honestly see us finishing first or second in our region. The only team I see possibly ahead of us in Timpview.”
What is your favorite NBA player and why?
“Kyrie Irving. He’s crafty and is able to score in so many ways. He’s also a good shooter even thoughtpeople say hes just a driver. I try to model my game after him.”
What is your favorite moment in your high school career?
“Last night versus Skyridge. I was able to hit a game winning shot to give us the win. It was a crazy game and I was glad I was able to help my team win.”
Who has the best home crowd in the state other than your own?
“Skyridge. They had so many students and their fans were ruthless to us. It was a tough environment to play in.”
What is your favorite off the court activity and why?
“Many people don’t know this but I enjoy writing stories in free time.”
What do you want to major in for college?
“I’m interested in study something related to sports physiology.”
What is your plan for after high school?
“My plan is to play college basketball next year.”
Prep Hoops evaluation
Dalton Stewart is a thin framed point guard who is able to get in the paint and score the ball or find teammates for open shots. Stewart has also shown he can consistently knock down the three point shot and he has 20 made three pointers this year. Stewart needs to add weight to his thin frame to excel at the college level. He is a mid-level junior college and NAIA prospect.
