Leading rebounders: Grant Smith 16 (Connersville), Blake Jackson 10 (Herron), Billie Webster III 10 (Seton Catholic)
MVP: Grant Smith (Connersville)
Smith did it all for Connersville today. He led his team to the victory and he overcame a slow start to score 25 points. He was 0/5 in the first half but still had nine points on free throws. He got going in the second half scoring 16 points in a multitude of ways. He threw down dunks and made mid-range jumpers. He also was great on the boards grabbing 16 rebounds. One of the best performances of the day.
Best offensive performance: Billie Webster III (Seton Catholic)
Webster was great in the first game of the day. He was consistently hitting shots and dropped 31 points. He was getting everything at the rim to fall and went 8/8 from the line. He added two assists and passed the ball really well as well. Webster really impressed with his scoring ability today.
Best defensive performance: Grant Pedigo (Franklin Central)
Pedigo was solid on both ends but where he really impressed was on the defensive side of the ball. He hauled down 16 rebounds and had two blocks and a few steals as well. He was really active on the defensive side of the ball and today showed just how good of a two way player he can be.
Best off-the-bench performance: Kobe Webster (Park Tudor)
Webster didn’t start in this one but he still came in and gave a great effort scoring 18 points. He sparked the team with some big shots and was one of the main reasons they pulled away late. A really good performance by the guard who had a breakout performance.
Best under-the-radar performance: Hunter White (Tindley)
It’s hard to be under the radar with 26 points in a game but Eric Hunter stole the show. White was really good as well. He made the game tying shot in regulation and the go ahead shot with nine seconds left in overtime. He was efficient and scoring the ball at will when he wanted too.
Best scorer: Eric Hunter (Tindley)
Hunter was great in this game scoring the ball. He led all scorers on the day with 36 points and did it in a multitude of ways. He got to the rim and also knocked down jumpers and made threes. It was the game we all know Hunter cane have and it was nice to see against a much bigger school.
Best shooter: Jathan Ritter (Bedford North Lawrence)
Ritter was on fire from deep hitting six long balls and sparking team as well as keeping his team in it once Park Tudor was making runs in the first half. Ritter is only a sophomore and is already really good on the catch-and-shoot.
Best rebounder: Blake Jackson (Herron)
Jackson was all over the boards in this game grabbing almost everything that came off the glass and was very good at boxing guys out in order to get those rebounds. Jackson is intriguing with the athleticism and length he has.
Best underclassman: Isiah Moore (Park Tudor)
Even though Moore had a rough game shooting the ball we can see how he’s so good. His IQ was so high and you can see that in his defense and how he plays the passing lanes. He has been on fire recently and was not forcing his shot at all in the game.
Best play: Micheal Green makes layup with 2.3 seconds left to win the Championship
