A strong, athletic guard, Agbaji plays under control and is at his best in attack mode where he uses a quick first step and terrific body control to get to the rim and finish in traffic.
He can handle the ball, play the point, shoot the 3 or a pull-up jumper. He says he is at his best pushing the tempo.Oak
“I like to push the ball down the court pretty fast,” Agbaji said. “I like to be in attack mode at all times.”
Agbaji put together a strong summer with the Kansas City Keys and picked up his first offer in July from Miami (Ohio). He later drew an offer from Air Force and says several other programs have shown interest as well.
He said he spent the summer working on his outside shot and becoming more comfortable shooting from distance.
“I focused more on my shot and becoming more comfortable with my 3-point shot and being able to take my game farther,” he said.
Oak Park took a 56-50 loss in its season opener against Republic, one of the premier teams in southwest Missouri, but with a strong junior class and a new head coach in Brennon Scanlon, Agbaji said expectations are high this season.
“We expect to win basketball games and get our names out there,” Agbaji said. “A lot of people have doubted us in the past years and we are just trying to get our names back out there.”
Agbaji said he is looking forward to playing North Kansas City, which defeated Oak Park twice last season and features T.J. Babikir.
Agbaji said he is a fan of Kevin Durant and LeBron James and says their leadership is something that he admires.
